We were fortunate enough to be approached by a prominent shareholder of a well-established Fijian Resort chain, who sought our expertise to assist them with a diverse range of projects they were planning to implement at two of their luxurious resorts. Our previous involvement with the resort chain had primarily consisted of assisting with a few minor design modifications for their accommodation offerings; however, this new engagement represented a significant leap in our collaboration, as we had not been involved to such an extent with an overseas project before. The process of managing and coordinating with various stakeholders across multiple projects proved to be an intriguing and enlightening exercise. The unique challenge lay in the fact that most of our communication, including project briefs and updates, was conducted via email or phone calls, which required us to be particularly diligent and clear in our interactions. Despite these challenges, the progress we have made has been nothing short of outstanding. After witnessing some of the results firsthand during a recent site visit, I am genuinely excited to see that the resort is well on its way to becoming a major tourist powerhouse in the region, attracting visitors from all corners of the globe.

When most people envision a tropical resort and the projects associated with them, they typically conjure images of sun-soaked beaches, swaying palm trees, and the serene experience of lounging by the pool with a refreshing drink in hand. However, as the design team responsible for these projects, we had to broaden our perspective and delve deeply into understanding not only what the customers desire in terms of luxury and relaxation but also the essential back-of-house operations that any successful resort must have in place. These operational components are the lifeblood that ensures the resort runs smoothly and efficiently. From providing sufficient amenities to well-designed kitchen preparation and storage areas, to creating comfortable staff accommodation, every aspect of the resort's infrastructure had to be meticulously planned and executed for each specific project. In addition to these considerations, we are even constructing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on one of the islands. This facility will allow us to fabricate various components in modular form, which will then be transported to individual building sites. This approach not only streamlines the construction process but also minimizes noise levels across the resort, ensuring a tranquil environment for guests.

Moreover, we have taken the initiative to adapt traditional local building methods and integrate them into our New Zealand design code. This innovative approach allows us to achieve a harmonious blend of local craftsmanship and modern design principles, ensuring that the resorts not only meet contemporary standards but also resonate with the cultural heritage of the region. I am eagerly looking forward to sharing more photos and updates from these stunning resorts as the projects progress toward completion and prepare to open their doors to guests eager to experience the beauty and luxury that they will offer.
